St. Thomas ON (Friday June 16th, 2023)
As the warm weather arrives, young people in the city of St. Thomas will have the opportunity to receive a refreshing treat courtesy of the St. Thomas Police Service (STPS).
The launch of Operation Freeze means that STPS members will be actively seeking out youth who demonstrate good behavior and positive interactions. When spotted, these members will reward the youth with a coupon for a cool treat. These coupons can be taken to any Circle K convenience store, where they can be redeemed for a free Froster drink.
Coupons will be issued by officers to any young person they observe performing acts of kindness, wearing a bike helmet, picking up litter, volunteering, or assisting someone in need. This program aims to recognize responsible and compassionate actions by the youth of St. Thomas.
STPS is looking forward to a summer of building relationships and promoting positive interactions with the youngest members of the community.
The program will remain active throughout the summer.
