Impaired operation:
In the evening hours on Saturday the 6th of May 2023 an observant citizen contacted the St Thomas Police Service to report concerns about a driver that was possibly impaired. The caller reported the vehicle was exceeding the speed limit and having difficulty maintaining lane control. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop ensued. A roadside screening demand was made and the male driver registered a failure on the screening device. The male was arrested and transported to the station where his BAC was determined to be close to double the limit. The 29 year old Windsor native was charged operate conveyance with BAC excess of 80mgs. Incident ST23007566.
Warrant arrests:
On Saturday the 6th of May 2023 officers on general patrol stopped a vehicle in the City of St Thomas. During the interaction it was discovered that the 34 year old male driver was currently wanted on a provincial offences warrant issued by the courts. The male was arrested and later released on an undertaking. Incident ST23007520
On Saturday the Aylmer Police Service arrested a 46 year old female that was currently wanted on a warrant held by the St Thomas Police Service. The female was later released with a future court date. Incident ST23007528.
On Saturday afternoon the Niagara Regional Police Service arrested a 52 year old female currently wanted on warrants held by our service. Court documents were sent to Niagara and the female was released with a future court date. Incident ST23007539.
On Saturday evening the Elgin County OPP arrested a 28 year old male currently wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant. The male was turned over to the custody of the St Thomas Police Service and later released. Incident ST23007553.
Theft:
On Saturday a north end business reported a male and a female had been in the store and had taken tools and merchandise – valued at over $1600. The parties left in a red four door vehicle but staff could not provide a licence plate. The matter is currently under investigation – please see attached photos.
