WARRANT ARREST AND NEW CHARGES

On April 14th, Officers on Community Patrol located a 37 year old St. Thomas man who was wanted on numerous outstanding warrants.  He was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was further charged with Possession of a schedule 1 substance and Failing to Comply with his release order.  He was held for court and was remanded into custody.

SHOPLIFTING

Officers on Community Patrol attended Walmart twice this weekend in relation to shoplifting incidents.  On Friday a 51 year old St. Thomas male was identified on video surveillance as the person responsible for stealing $250 worth of meats.  A warrant has been issued for his arrest for Theft under $5,000.  ST23006121.  The second incident happened on Saturday where a 37 year old St. Thomas male was identified on video surveillance stealing an item worth $200.  He was already wanted on warrants for similar crimes, and now another warrant has been issued for his arrest for Theft under $5,000 and Failing to comply with his release order.  ST23006180.

BIKE THEFTS

On April 14th between the hours of 8:30pm and midnight a citizen left their $2400 bike unlocked by a dumpster on Edward Street.  Stolen was a Trek Farley, blue and black in colour with ‘fat’ tires.  ST23006144.

Officers on Community Patrol took a report of a stolen bike that had been locked to the bike rack at a downtown high school.  Stolen was a black Trek 6000 mountain bike.  ST23006153.

Sometime overnight of April 15th a citizen left their E bike unlocked in the hallway of their apartment building and it was stolen.  It is described as a Zap Zoom E bike with a black mountain bike frame.  ST23000245

THEFT

Officers on Community Patrol attended the Elgin County Railway Museum after a group of youths left their 3 cell phones unattended in a backpack.  When they returned to where they had stored it, the backpack was gone.  This occurred yesterday at approximately 3:30pm.  A female had been seen by a witness walking away with the backpack.  ST23006259.

MISCHIEF

On Saturday night at approximately 10:40pm Officers on Community  Patrol attended a business in the 900 block of Talbot Street after the glass break alarm went off.  Officers located one of the windows to have been broken.  Video surveillance of the scene shows two female suspects kicking the window causing it to break.  ST23006211

Officers on Community Patrol were called to Pinafore Park after Park staff report damage within the park area.  Sometime overnight of April 14th, suspects ripped numerous park signs out of the ground and damaged another one.  They reported also that at the southwest corner of Pinafore Lake a tent had been located burnt out.  ST23006149.

THREATS

Officers on Community Patrol attended an apartment building yesterday at 8:15am, in the downtown core, after receiving a call from a resident reporting that they had been threatened by a neighbour.  Officers arrested a 47 year old St. Thomas man without incident for uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.  The man was transported to the Colin McGregor building for processing.  He was additionally charged with being intoxicated in a public area.  He was later released with a future court date.  ST23006229.

INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE

Officers on Community Patrol attended a residence in the city’s south end yesterday afternoon after neighbours called Police to report yelling coming from a residence.  A 35 year old St. Thomas woman was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  She was charged with Assault with a weapon.  She was later released with a future court date.  ST23006248

VEHICLE ENTRIES

Yesterday, Officers on Community Patrol attended the south end of the city after citizens reported 6 vehicle entries from overnight.  All vehicles were unlocked.  One vehicle had a wallet stolen where the credit card was later used at a couple stores in the city.  Attached is a picture of the suspect who used the credit card.  ST23006240

STOLEN TRUCK

Officers on Community Patrol attended a Southwick Street address early this morning after a citizen called Police to report that their 2005 Chevrolet Silverado had just been stolen from their laneway.  The truck had been restored and was valued at $15,000.   ST23006285.
