Mischief
On Wednesday March 8th 2023 at approximately 6:30 PM St. Thomas Police received multiple calls in regard to a incident involving a male party with a weapon, slashing a tire and breaking the mirrors of a truck parked at a residence on the south side of the city. When approached by the home owner the unknown male uttered threats to cause bodily harm and continued to cause damage to the front door of the residence.
St. Thomas Police were unable to locate the suspect in the area.

Fraud
On Wednesday March 8th St. Thomas Police were contacted by a local resident who reported being out $1,000 after falling victim to a phone scam. The victim answered a call from someone identifying themselves as an Amazon representative who was trying to process their recent refund. The victim followed the instructions to receive their refund and quickly learned money had been withdrawn from their account. St. Police are continuing their investigation. ST23003718
On Wednesday March 8th St. Thomas Police were called to a downtown cheque cashing service to investigate the report of a non-negotiable cheque they processed due to a stop payment. As a result, a 57 year old St. Thomas man was identified, located and charged with 1 count of Fraud under $5,000. The man was transported to Police Headquarters were he was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST23003735

Arson
On Wednesday March 8th at approximately 1:15 PM, St. Thomas Police were dispatched to the main washroom at Pinafore Park to investigate a fire that been set in the garbage bin inside. St. Thomas Fire quickly extinguished the fire and St. Thomas Police are continuing their investigation. ST23003736
Theft
On Wednesday March 8th 2023 St. Thomas Police were called to local motel to investigate a theft that had occurred. A laptop and cell phone were reported missing when the occupants of the room woke up. St. Thomas Police continue to investigate this incident. ST23003737
While investigating the theft from the motel, St. Thomas Police became aware of an outstanding warrant for one of the occupants. As a result, a 30 year old St. Thomas women was taken into custody and transported to Police Headquarters where she was held for court. ST23003747
Vehicle Entries
On Wednesday March 8th 2023, a vehicle parked in a Church parking lot on the south side of the city was entered sometime Tuesday overnight. Sunglasses and winter gloves were reported stolen. ST23003757
A second vehicle parked in front of a residence on Centre Street was entered. Reported stolen was a pair of sunglasses and various items of clothing. ST23003771

Arrested
On Wednesday March 8th 2023 Officers on community patrol located a man known to have an outstanding warrant with our service for 1 count Theft under $5,000. The 43 year old St. Thomas man was transported to Police Headquarters and held for court. ST23003779
