THEFT
Yesterday morning officers on Community Patrol attended a business on Gaylord Road after the business reported one of their trucks had been stolen sometime overnight. By noon, an officer located the truck on Elysian Street. The owner attended and picked the vehicle up. There was no damage to the vehicle. ST2300164
Officers on Community Patrol located a motor vehicle yesterday that had been reported stolen from Tillsonburg. A brown Honda Civic was abandoned on Talbot Street near John Street. The owner attended to pick up their vehicle. ST23001667.
Yesterday at approximately 2:15 pm Officers on Community Patrol were called to a Pharmacy in the city after a shoplifting incident. A male and female had left the store without paying for their items and set the security alarms off. Staff were able to get the license plate number of the Dodge Ram pick up truck they fled the scene in. Police observed the truck driving northbound on Highbury Avenue a short time later and activated their emergency lights to attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and continued northbound at a high rate of speed. The officer discontinued the stop immediately. The male is described as being white, 5 feet tall and wearing a dark coat. The female was white, 4’11”, with long red hair and wearing dark clothing. ST23001670
ATTEMPT THEFT
Officers on Community Patrol were called to another business on Gaylord Road yesterday morning after they reported an attempt theft of one of their trucks overnight. An employee entered the vehicle to use it and found that the drivers door lock had been punched, the interior light bulbs had been pulled out, the GPS was unplugged and the truck ignition had been tampered with. MISSING PERSON LOCATED
Last night Officers on Community Patrol were able to locate our missing person Jake Given.
WARRANTS
On January 31st a 31 year-old St. Thomas man was arrested without incident at a Scott Street address. There was a Bench Warrant issued for him after he missed court stemming from shoplifting charges. He was later released with a future court date.
Today at 8:00 am a 32 year old Elgin County man turned himself into Police after a warrant was issued for his arrest for failing to comply with his release order. His original charges were domestic related from October 2022. He breached a condition where he was not to contact his victim from that time.
