Drug Investigation
St. Thomas Police responded to a 911 call, placed by a Wellington St. business. An individual had attended the store with obvious injuries, and stated they were stabbed. Police located the individual nearby, who was now stating the wounds were self-inflicted. The individual was unsteady, and seemed disoriented. The 20-year-old London resident was apprehended under the mental health act. A search of the individual was conducted and a large knife, two cell phones, a large amount of cash and suspected cocaine were located. The individual was transported to hospital under the mental health act, and faces charges of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking upon their release. ST26004418.
Thefts
St. Thomas Police were called to a south end residential area for a theft from a vehicle. The complainant reports that over the weekend, their vehicle was accidentally left unlocked while in the laneway. Inside was a bank card and a bag of dishes, both were taken. The complainant received banking notifications that the debit card had been used at a variety store several times, totaling 300$. Police attended the variety store and obtained video of the suspect making the transactions. The incident is still under investigation. ST26004420.
A theft was reported to the St. Thomas Police, after a suspect attended a west end retail store, and was captured on camera selecting a few grocery items and leaving without paying. Suspect is described as having a shaved head and eyebrows. Video is being reviewed, and the incident is still under investigation. ST26004421.
Assault and Warrant Arrest
St. Thomas Police were called after and assault took place at a residence on the city’s north side. The victim had allowed the accused to stay temporarily. When the accused wore out their welcome, and was asked to leave, the victim was assaulted. A short time later A 30-year-old St. Thomas resident was located and arrested for the assault, and for an outstanding warrant for uttering threats from an incident earlier in the week. Mischief
Police were called to a parking lot at an east end retail plaza for a mischief. The complainant reported that they were in a verbal altercation with an unknown person in the parking lot. When the complainant returned to their vehicle, there was damage to the mirror. Video surveillance was obtained, and the incident is still under investigation. ST26004459
