A 23-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrest and charged with shoplifting after an incident at a retail store in the 1063 Talbot Street business park. This person attempted to steal $63.00 worth of non-essential items. As a result, the suspect was later released with a future court date and the items were returned to the store. ST23011055

Two suspects broke into the laundry room at a north end apartment building and stole coins from machines. Two individuals had a key to enter the laundry room and once inside, damaged coin machines and stole money. This incident is under investigation and officers are waiting on video surveillance of the occurrence. ST23011057

A downtown shelter turned over an air soft handgun to police for public safety reasons. Air soft handguns often look very similar to actual firearms and are a threat to public safety. In this case, the shelter is commended for turning over this air soft handgun to police before it could be used inappropriately. ST23011069

42-year-old Kevin Ashford was arrested and charged for failing to abide by release conditions stemming from a previous criminal charge. The accused was previously charged with a criminal offence and released with a curfew imposed and he was located by police out beyond that curfew. The accused was held for court this morning and released by the courts with another court date and conditions. ST23011107

A 22-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats as a result of an overnight incident. This person was held in police custody and later released by the courts with a new court date and conditions. No serious injuries were sustained as a result of the assault.

42-year-old Christopher Menard turned himself in on the strength of a St. Thomas Police arrest warrant. The warrant was a result of a previous fraud investigation. The accused was released by police with a future court date and conditions.
