STPS media release for Wednesday December 27th 2023

Vehicle entry (video above)

In the early morning hours of December 27th 2023, an alert citizen in the south end noticed an unknown party inside their neighbour’s vehicle. The citizen managed to scare the party off before Police were contacted and arrived shortly after. Some items were reported missing from inside the vehicle. Attached above is a video of the suspect involved. If you know or recognize the individual involved, or have any information that could assist Police, please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or submit a tip anonymously to Crimestoppers and refer to incident # ST23022571.

Vehicle entry

A resident on the south end of the city contacted STPS to report that sometime between the early hours of Christmas day and Boxing day, unknown person(s) had entered the enclosed area of their truck and stole a number of tools. Police continue to investigate the matter and canvass for video. ST23022538

 

Recovery of stolen bike

On December 26th 2023, a St. Thomas resident contacted STPS to report that their accessibility tricycle had been stolen by unknown person(s) sometime overnight. A short time after being reported, a vigilant Officer on community patrol observed a party riding a tricycle matching the description provided. Upon further investigation, it was confirmed that the tricycle was in fact the stolen one and was subsequently returned to its rightful owner. No charges were pursued at the request of the owner. Warrant arrests

On December 26th 2023, Officers attended a local pharmacy for an unwanted party, who they learned was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of London. STPS Officers arrested the party before they were released a short time later with a new court date from LPS. ST23022545

STPS Officers attended a downtown restaurant for a trespassed party. Upon arrival, Officers learned the party was wanted on an outstanding STPS warrant. The party was subsequently arrested and released with a new court date and a Provincial Offence notice for trespassing. ST23022554

London Police Service contacted STPS to advise they had a 34 yr old female in custody on the strength of an outstanding STPS warrant. The female was brought to LPS cells where the warrant was executed and she was given a new court date. ST23022564

 

Theft of licence plate

A city resident contacted STPS to report one of the licence plates on their vehicle had been stolen sometime while parked at a shopping lot in the south end. No suspects at this time. ST23022572

 

Theft of tricycle (photo below)

A resident on the south end of the city called Police to report that their Mantis Tri-Rad Tricycle, burgundy in colour with a white basket on the back, had been stolen sometime overnight between December 25th and 26th 2023.
