St. Thomas, ON – Saturday June 20th 2026
The St. Thomas Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch is investigating a serious assault that occurred Thursday afternoon in the area of Talbot Street and Moore Street.
On June 18th at approximately 3:15 p.m., police received a 9-1-1 call reporting that an individual had been assaulted by two adult males who then fled the area in a grey sedan. Officers arrived on scene and located an injured 16 year old youth suffering from serious head injuries. He was transported to hospital by EMS.
Through the investigation, police have determined the assault was not random. Investigators believe it stemmed from an earlier interaction involving the victim and a dog in the area of Princess Avenue. A short time later, the victim was confronted and assaulted. There is nothing to suggest an ongoing threat to public safety.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Branch continue to review video surveillance, identify witnesses, and gather evidence. Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dash camera or security video from the area between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Thomas Police Service at 519-631-1224.
