St. Thomas, ON – Wednesday March 12th 2025
A 57 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested in relation to a stolen vehicle investigation.
On March 11th 2025, police received a report of a stolen black Chevrolet Cruze. The owner of the vehicle had allowed an acquaintance to use it since December but had requested its return.
This morning, at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers on community patrol located the stolen vehicle and conducted a high-risk takedown.
The 57 year old individual was found operating the vehicle while impaired and was arrested without incident. Subsequent breath tests revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 240 mg per 100 ml of blood—three times the legal limit. Further investigation led to additional charges after officers discovered a prohibited flick knife.
As a result, the individual has been charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol or Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Plus 80
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
The vehicle owner was notified, and the accused was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date.
