Theft

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a theft that occurred from a property on Sunset Drive. On Tuesday December 12th 2023, officers were called by the property owner who wished to report an unknown person had attended their address and stole tires from machinery stored on the property. This remains under investigation. ST23021885

A 27 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged. On Tuesday December 12th 2023, officers were called to a Talbot Street convenience store to investigate the report of a theft that had occurred. Upon arrival, police learned an individual had attended the store, selected a various merchandise before leaving the store without paying. Officers reviewed video surveillance of the incident and identified the 27 year old St. Thomas resident as the person responsible for the theft. As a result, the individual has been charged with Theft under $5,000. A warrant has been requested. ST23021884

Arson

St. Thomas police are currently investigating an incident of arson. On Tuesday December 12th 2023, STPS were called by St. Thomas Fire who were dispatched to a vehicle on fire at a west end address. Through investigation and review of available video, officers have determined the fire was intentionally set. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. This remains under investigation. Mischief  

A 15 year old St. Thomas youth has been arrested. On Tuesday December 12th 2023, officers were called to attend an address on the south side of the city for the report of an individual throwing rocks at the windows of a residence. Upon arrival, police located the 15 year old who had thrown a large rock through a window of the home. The youth was arrested and charged with one count of Mischief and was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST23021882

Arrested

A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday December 12th 2023, officers at the Elgin County Court House were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service stemming from an incident in September. The individual was arrested and processed on the charges and were released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23021860

A 56 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday December 12th 2023, officers at the Elgin County Court House were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for  Theft under $5,000 stemming from shoplifting incident in September. The individual was arrested and processed on the charges, later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23021862

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday December 12th 2023, officers were called to a commercial unit in the city to investigate the report of an unknown individual using the building utilities, without permission. Upon arrival, police located the 38 year old known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with London Police Service. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be processed, later released with a future court date. ST23021866
