Break and Enter

On Tuesday April 4th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate a break and enter in the industrial area of the city. Through investigation it was learned that approximately $800.00 worth of tools had been stolen from a business in the area, sometime overnight. St. Thomas Police are continuing to investigate. Assault with a Weapon

On Tuesday April 4th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital to investigate an assault that had occurred. Upon arrival, STPS assisted hospital security with the arrest of a 21 year old male who had become aggressive and combative with hospital staff upon discharge. As a result, the male was charged with 1 count Causing a Disturbance, 1 count Assault with a Weapon, 1 count Uttering Threats. The male was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on an undertaking. ST23005352

Threats to Officer

On Tuesday April 4th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital to assist with an escort of a second 21 year old male who was being discharged by hospital staff. Upon arrival and while exiting the building, the male became combative and threatened to harm the Officer assisting. As a result, the male was taken into custody and charged with 1 count Utter Threats. He was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and held for court. ST23005355

Warrants

On Tuesday April 4th 2023, St. Thomas Police at the Elgin County Court House were dealing with a person on an unrelated mattered when it was learned of an outstanding warrant with our service for breaching release conditions. As a result, a 37 year old male was arrested and charged with 1 count Failure to Comply. He was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on an appearance notice. On Tuesday April 4th 2023, St .Thomas Police were notified by Aylmer Police Service of a 31 year old male they had in their custody on an outstanding warrant with our service for 1 count of Break and Enter into a Dwelling House. As such, STPS exchanged custody with APS and the male was transported to Police Headquarters where we was processed and held for court. ST23005400

Mischief

On Tuesday April 4th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to a investigate a complaint between two parties known to each other at a residence in the north end of the city. Through investigation, it was learned the accused caused damaged to an exterior door of the home to regain entry after leaving, following a verbal argument. As such, a 32 year old St. Thomas man has been charged with 1 count of Mischief. He was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on an undertaking. ST23005394

R. I. D. E.

On Wednesday April 5th 2023, St. Thomas Police conducted a RIDE program on the south side of the city. As a result, several vehicles were stopped and checked with all sober drivers and zero infractions to report. ST23005403
