Fraud 

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of a local business having their email compromised. On Monday October 28th 2024, STPS was contacted by the business owner who wished to report that they were made aware of the issue after not receiving an outstanding payment for service, learning it had been sent to a fraudulent email address. This remains under investigation. ST24019609

Break and Enter 

A charger for a mobility scooter has been reported stolen from a garage. On Monday October 28th 2024, officers attended an address on the southside of the city to investigate the report on an unknown person gaining access to a detached garage and stealing the charger. Police are reviewing available video in the area as they continue to investigate. ST24019616

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a break and enter at a home on the northside of the city. On Monday October 28th 2024, it was reported that the resident returned home to find damage to their front door, allowing access inside. Property inside had been damaged and a window was left ajar. This remains under investigation. ST24019657

Assault

A 57 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a disturbance at an address on Talbot Street on Monday. Through investigation, police learned the accused had physically assaulted a tenant of an apartment building. Officers reviewed video surveillance of the incident, resulting in the 57 year old being charged with one count of assault. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and release on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24019625

Warrant Arrest

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. The individual was wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Mischief, after being identified as the person responsible for causing damage to a vehicle downtown last week. On Monday October 28th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual and transported them to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court. Intimate Partner Violence 

A 43 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after an ex-partner reports a history of violence. The individual was arrested and charged with 1 count of Assault, 1 count of Assault Cause Bodily Harm, 1 count Forcible Confinement and 1 count of Unlawfully in a Dwelling. The 43 year old was processed at police headquarters and held for a morning court appearance. ST24019652
