Multiple arrests 

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. Just before 7:00 a.m. on Monday May 29th, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by OPP who had the resident in custody on the strength of our warrant. The 39 year old had been charged with two driving offences from an incident in April of 2022. The individual was transported to St. Thomas police headquarters, processed and released with a future court date. ST23009149

A 46 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday May 29th, 2023 officers on community patrol we dealing with the individual on a unrelated matter when they became aware of the outstanding warrant for arrest for charges of Assault and Utter Threats after incidents in 2022. The 46 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking. ST23009159

A 28 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to investigate the report of a suspicious person attempting to remove parts of a vehicle on Chestnut Street. Upon police arrival, they located the 28 year old known to them to be wanted for a breach of probation charge.  The individual was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an appearance notice. A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with 2 counts of Theft under $5,000 after police were called to investigate a shoplifting incident in progress at a retail store on Talbot Street. Upon arrival, police located the suspect and placed them under arrested. The suspect was found to be in possession of two speakers that were reported stolen from a nearby retail location in addition to the items stolen from the location police responded to. The 33 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking. ST23009191

Gas drive off

$50 of gas has been reported stolen from a gas station on Talbot Street. At approximately 3:15 p.m. on Sunday May 28th, 2023 a suspect driving a silver Toyota Highlander attended the gas station, pumped $50 of gas before leaving the area making no attempt to pay. Police are reviewing video surveillance to identify the suspect. ST23009168

Shoplift

St. Thomas Police were called to a retail store on First Avenue to investigate a shoplifting incident. Through investigation it was learned that at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Monday May 29th, 2023 an unknown suspect entered the store and began placing items in a cart. A short time later, the suspect left the store with the cart making no attempt to pay. The suspect was seen loading the stolen items into a red Dodge Ram pick up truck. Police are reviewing video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST23009183

Over $700 of clothing, meat and food has been recovered. On Monday May 29th, 2023 just before 5 p.m. St. Thomas Police were called to investigate a shoplifting incident from a retail store on Talbot Street.  Store employees report two suspects entered the store and began to put various clothing items, meat and food in their cart. The suspects did pay for some items but failed to pay for all items. They were met by loss prevention officers once outside at which time all items were recovered. Police are reviewing video surveillance to identify the suspects. ST23009187

Vehicle Entry

A vehicle owner attended police headquarters on Monday May 29th, 2023 to report their vehicle being entered while they were away. Sometime between May 18th and 19th, a unknown person entered the vehicle and took the ownership and insurance documents. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST23009176
