Intimate Partner Violence
Two St. Thomas teens have been charged following an assault investigation. On Monday, police were called to attend an address downtown for the report of an assault that had occurred between individuals known to each other. As a result of this investigation, a 16 year old female and a 15 year old male have been charged with Assault. Both individuals attended police headquarters, were processed and released on undertakings with future dates to attend court. ST26011106
A 34 year old London man has been arrested. On Monday officers were called to investigate the report of unwanted communication. Through investigation, it was learned the accused has refused to cease communication with the victim, following an altercation that had occured between the two. Charged with Criminal Harassment and Assault Causing Bodily Harm, the 34 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters. Once processed, he was released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26011127
Neighbour Dispute Leads to Charges
A 47 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a neighbour dispute, Monday evening. Upon arrival officers learned an argument between parties known to each other had escalated and resulted in damage of property and the threats being made. Charged with one count of Mischief and one count of Utter Threats, the 47 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date.
Theft Investigations
The St. Thomas Police have responded to several reports of theft in the city.
- A ebike, valued at $1,200 has been reported stolen from an address on Talbot Street while the owner attended an appointment.
- A smart-kick ebike, valued at $450 has been reported stolen from an address on Southwick Street.
- Two bags of laundry and a jug of laundry detergent has been reported stolen from an business on Ross Street.
- $365 of clothing has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street.
- $480 of outdoor equipment has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. A 26 year old man from Bradford, ON has been charged with Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Release Order. A warrant for his arrest has been requested.
Fraud
STPS are investigating the report of a bank fraud. On Monday, a local resident contacted police after learning transfers made between their accounts were fraudulently sent to an unknown account. This remains under investigation. ST26011131
