Probation Warrant Executed

On Monday January 30th, members of the St. Thomas police were called to Probation and Parole services in regards to an outstanding warrant. There police arrested a 54 year old west Elgin man wanted for breaching his probation order. The man was brought to the Colin MacGregor Justice Building where he was subsequently released with a future court date.

Break in reported in city’s North End

Officers on Community Patrol responded to the city’s north-end shortly before 3 pm on Monday to reports of a break and enter to a residence. A South Edgeware Road, resident reported that an unknown person(s) had entered their residence while they were in the backyard. The resident reported finding wet boot prints throughout the home and wallet missing. Suspects are unknown at this time and the incident remains under investigation.

Female Assaulted on Chestnut Street, Female Arrested.

A 40 year old woman of No Fixed Address has been arrested and charged following an assault investigation on Chestnut Street Monday afternoon. The female victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault. The suspect was later released with a future court date and conditions.

Community Patrol arrests 36 year old Woman

Officers on community patrol arrested a 36 year old female at a downtown address on Monday evening. The female had been wanted on a Bench Warrant. She was arrested and released with a future court date.

Impaired Driver Arrested

Witnesses from a local retail store contacted the police on Monday evening after witnessing what they believed to be an impaired female driver. Witnesses reported the female leaving in her vehicle and called to the police. Officers were able to catch up to the vehicle and stop it. Officers suspected the female driver may have consumed an unknown amount of alcoholic beverages, and as such requested she complete a road-side screening device. Her result would be a fail, at which time she was arrested for Operation of a conveyance in excess of 80mgs of alcohol. A 52 year old St. Thomas woman was brought to the station where she provided 2 samples of breath resulting in readings over twice the legal limit. She would later be released from custody with a future court date. Her vehicle was also impounded for a period of 7 days and her license suspended for 90 days.

Drugs Found on Wanted man

Officers located a wanted 31 year old St. Thomas man on Monday night in the area of Avon Road and Confederation Drive. As officers were attempting to arrest the male he fled on foot. After a short foot chase the male was apprehended. The male was arrested and found to be in possession of suspected crystal meth. In addition to the outstanding charges the male also faces charges of possession under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. The male remains in custody awaiting a court appearance.
