Break and Enter 

The St. Thomas police are currently investigating a break and enter that occurred at a residential address on Sunset Drive. On Monday January 22nd 2024, officers were called by home owner who reported that at some point in the early evening hours, an unknown person(s) had entered the home and removed several boxes of decorative plates. This remains under investigation. ST24000995

Fraud 

The St. Thomas police are currently investigating an incident of fraud. On Monday January 22nd 2024, officers were called by a local resident who wished to report a parcel addressed to them, had been fraudulently picked up by an unknown person. Through investigation, STPS learned that the victims parcel had been picked up on Saturday January 20th 2024, from a Canada Post retail outlet. This remains under investigation. ST24001004

Warrant

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday January 22nd 2024, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for one count Sexual Interference, one count Invitation to Sexual Touching and one count Sexual Assault on a person under the age of 16. The 35 year old was arrested and processed on the charges, attended court and was remanded into custody. ST24001011

Theft

$120 of gas has been reported stolen from a gas station on Talbot Street. On Monday January 22nd 2024, officers were called by an employee of the gas station who reported that an unknown person attended the location, pumped the gas and failed to pay. Through review of video surveillance, police learned the plates attached to the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Mount Brydges. This remains under investigation. ST24001023
