Theft

Approximately $54 of groceries has been reported stolen. On Friday March 29th 2024, officers were called to a variety store on the northside of city to investigate the theft. Through investigation police learned the suspect, described as approximately 6 feet tall was wearing a black puffer coat, black and white shoes, sunglasses and a black and white face covering entered the store and selected various grocery items. The individual then left the store, failing to pay. Video surveillance of the incident is being reviewed as this remains under investigation. ST24004927

An amazon package has been reported stolen. On Monday April 1st, police were contacted by a resident on the northside of the city who wished to report that after receiving email notification that their package had been delivered, the package had been stolen before they were able to retrieve it. Seatbelt Lane 

Approximately 113 drivers were spoken to during a seatbelt lane check conducted in the city on March 31st 2024. Officers issued one Highway Traffic Act warning and served one Provincial Offence Notice. ST24005021

Break and Enter

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a commercial break and enter that occurred sometimes between March 28th and April 1st 2024. On April 1st 2024, officers were called to an address in the industrial park to investigate the report of an office trailer being entered and the computers being stolen. A vehicle on the property was also entered and various tools were stolen. STPS are reviewing available video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST24005066

Fraud 

A local resident is out approximately $1,000 after a series of unauthorized bank transactions. On Monday April 1st 2024, police were contacted by the victim who wish to report that throughout the month of March, various amounts were withdrawn from their bank account without authorization or to their knowledge. RIDE 

STPS are happy to report that no infractions were found during an early morning RIDE check, set up in the north end of the city. ST24005117
