Vehicle Entries 

St. Thomas police are investigating several vehicle entries reported over the last 24 hrs.

Loose change was reported stolen from a vehicle on Montgomery Road. ST24018680

A wallet containing cash and personal identification, sunglasses and Air pods was reported stolen from a vehicle on Scott Street. The victims bank card was then used at various locations throughout the city. ST24018686

A tablet, cash and vehicle documents have been reported stolen from two vehicles on Ahmed Place. ST24018691

Vehicle documents, a dashcam, keys and a wallet have been reported stolen from a vehicle on Holland Street. ST24018707

A phone was reported stolen from a vehicle while momentarily parked on Alexandria Street. ST24018734

STPS would like to remind our community to lock their vehicles. Implementing a nightly routine to include bringing your belongings in from your vehicle and ensuring it is locked each night can protect you from theft.

Mischief

Significant damage to heavy equipment has been reported to police. On Wednesday October 16th 2024, police were called to a commercial property, currently being developed on the north end of the city to investigate the report of an excavator with extensive damage. The windows of the equipment had been smashed out and the hydraulic lines, cut. This remains under investigation. ST24018681

Damage has been reported to two residential doors in the 100 block of Curtis Street. On Wednesday October 16th 2024, police were called to investigate the report of an unknown person attending the area and throwing paint on the porch and doors of two houses. The individual had left the area prior to police arrival. This remains under investigation. ST24018747

Warrant Arrests

A 63 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday October 16th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 and Mischief, stemming from an incident in August. The individual was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24018711

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday October 16th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Breach of Probation. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24018723

Assault 

A 54 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday October 16th 2024, officers were called to an address in the center of the city to investigate the report of an assault. Upon arrival, police learned an individual had been physically assaulted and threatened. No injuries were sustained. As a result, the 54 year old was charged with one count of Assault and one count of Utter Threats. They were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24018751
