Intimate Partner Violence

A 30 year old St. Thomas man has been charged following an assault investigation. On Wednesday evening, police were called downtown to investigate the report of assault that had occurred between spouses. CCTV capturing the incident was provided to police. As a result, the 30 year old has been charged with one count of Assault and one count of Mischief. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST26005539

Theft Investigations

A 35 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after police were called to a theft in progress at a retail store on First Avenue Wednesday morning. The individual had been stopped by store staff and was causing disturbance when police arrived. Charged with Theft under $5,000 he was transported to police headquarters, processed to attend court and released by the courts. ST26005507

Cosmetics have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday, police were contacted by staff who provided video of the incident. This remains under investigation. ST26005518

$700 in clothes and footwear have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday night, officers attended the store after it was reported an unknown man had failed to pay for the items. Video is available and has been provided to police. ST26005533

A e-bike valued at $500 has been reported stolen from an address on Metcalfe Street. The theft occurred on Monday evening and remains under investigation. ST26005551

Warrant Arrest

A 47 year old Central Elgin man has been arrested. On Wednesday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were made aware of an outstanding warrant for his arrest after he was found to be in breach of his conditional sentence order. The 47 year old was processed, appeared before the courts and was remanded into custody. ST26005506

Narcan Administered 

On Wednesday afternoon, police responded to a call for service at an address on Princess Avenue. While on scene, officers located a 29 year old female unconscious and experiencing a suspected overdose. Naloxone (Narcan) was administered by security and police, with a total of three doses given. The female regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital by EMS for further medical care. ST26005512
