Stunt Driving:

On Saturday May 13, 2023 Police were conducting speed enforcement on Southdale line when they could hear a loud vehicle approaching.  A Lidar laser speed monitoring device captured the vehicle traveling 136km/hr in a posted 60km/hr zone.  Officers were able to stop the vehicle safely  and spoke with the driver.  The male driver was given multiple part 3 summons and had his drivers license suspended and his vehicle impounded for stunt driving.*St23008050

Vehicle Entry:

On Saturday May 13, 2023 the complainant reported to police that vehicle was broken into while it was parked on Metcalfe overnight on Friday May 12, 2023.  Multiple items were taken from the vehicle including Bugatti branded leather bag and an Apple Macbook.  If anyone observed persons in the area going through cars please contact STPS or Crime stoppers.*St23008061

Break and Enter:

Police are currently investigating a break and enter in the area of Hemlock.  The complainant advised that his garage was broken into and multiple items were taken including 2 bicycles , tools and a kids dirt bike.  It is believed that the break and enter occurred between the hours of Friday May 12, 2023 8pm and Saturday May 13, 2023 9:50am.  If anyone observed persons in the area or has camera footage that could offer assistance please contact STPS or Crime stoppers.*ST23008066

Theft:

On Saturday May 13, 2023 police received a phone call about bikes being stolen from a residence on Elm and Fairview.  The complainant advised that a green and grey bike was stolen sometime in the last 3 weeks.  She also advised that her daughters bike was stolen from a residence on Fairview overnight on Friday evening leading into Saturday morning.  The bike is Green in colour.  *ST23008086

Theft:

On Saturday May 13, 2023 police received a call for a bike that had been stolen from the Elgin Mall parking lot.  Police attended and were advised that the bike had been stolen and were provided with a picture of the bike.  Police were able to locate the bike a short time later in the downtown core and returned the stolen bike to its rightful owner.*ST23008089

Arrest:

On Saturday May 13, 2023 police responded to a call for service at a business at 1010 Talbot.  Police were advised that a male was stealing from the store and that the male had assaulted one of the employees.  Police attended and arrested the 29 year old male.  The was charged with 1 count of assault, 1 count of theft and 1 count of possession of a controlled substance.  The male was held pending a bail hearing. *ST23008101

Theft:

On Saturday May 13, 2023 a business at 107 Edward contacted police advising a male and female left the store with up to $5000 worth of products without paying.  Police attended and were advised that a male wearing a white shirt and a female who was carrying a black back pack was last seen leaving the store in an unknown direction.  If you were in the area of the store around 5:30pm and can assist with the investigation please contact 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers *ST23008110

Bike Theft:

On Saturday May 13, 2023 police were contact for a stolen bike from the downtown core.  The complainant advised that he was at a business downtown and parked his bike at the rear on May 8, 2023 when he returned to his bikes location it was missing.  The bike is a Hyper Boundary black and red in colour 18 speed.*ST23008120

Impaired operation:

On Saturday May 13, 2023 police responded to a collision at the rear of a establishment in the downtown core.  On arrival police located a 36 year old male.  Police arrested the male for operation of a conveyance while impaired and brought him to the station from breath testing.  Once at the station the male blew over the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood and subsequently charged with a count of operation of a conveyance with excess blood alcohol.  The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.  The male was released with a future court date.*ST23008136
