Theft 

A quantity of rings have been reported stolen to police. On Saturday June 22nd 2024, officers were called to a home on Chestnut Street to investigate the report of the rings being stolen after a hired homecare service company had been in the home. This remains under investigation. ST24010559

St. Thomas police are seeking assistance in identifying the individual in the photo below in relation to a purse being stolen from the Library. On Saturday June 22nd 2024, officers were called to investigate the report of the purse, containing car keys and personal ID being stolen while the victim was using the computers at the Library. The purse was later located in the area, however the contents remain outstanding. STPS are looking to identify this person:

A wallet has been reported from a vehicle on Airey Ave. On Sunday June 23rd 2024, the owner of the vehicle contacted police to report that their vehicle had been entered and their wallet, containing their personal identification and bank cards had been stolen. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST24010629

Theft of Mail 

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the theft of mail from a residential area on St. Anne’s Place. On Sunday June 23rd 2024, officers were called by a neighbour in the area who wished to report that their home security camera had captured an unknown individual attending several addresses and removing their mail. Police are reviewing the available video and continue to investigate. ST24010633

Warrant Arrest

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. While on an unrelated call for service, officers located the individual who was known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 stemming from a shoplifting incident in May. The individual was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24010659

Mischief 

St. Thomas police are investigating a string of incidents that occurred in a northside neighbourhood between Saturday evening and the morning of Sunday June 23rd, 2024. On Sunday, police took several reports of damage to property, stolen license plates and general mischief that all occurred in the same neighbourhood. Police are asking residence in the area of Hammond Street, Woodworth Ave, McLachlin Place, Inkerman Street and South Edgeware Road to review their residential cameras and report any suspicious activity to police. Damage to property in Pinafore Park has been reported to police. On Sunday June 23rd 2024, officers were called by staff of the Parks and Recreation Department who wished to report hanging flower baskets in the park and been removed and damaged. Total estimate of the damage is $400. ST24010605

A reminder to our community, CamSafe is a community based crime prevention opportunity and investigative resource that enlists the help of St. Thomas residents. This program allows community members to voluntarily identify their residential or business video surveillance. Identified addresses will be mapped on a database of surveillance camera locations for officers to quickly and effectively direct resources when investigating criminal offences in your neighbourhood.
