Warrant Arrests 

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday July 26th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Assault and Failure to Comply with Probation in regards to an incident in June. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24012883

On Friday July 26th 2024, a 31 year old St. Thomas resident attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order stemming from an incident in May. The individual was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24012910

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to address an unwanted person. At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday July 27th 2024, officers were called to a Ross Street address for the report of an unwanted person on the property. Upon arrival, police located the 31 year old who was known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime in relation to an incident in June. The 31 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24012970

A 49 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday July 28th 2024, while on an unrelated call for service officers located the 49 year old who was known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Break and Enter in relation to an incident in June. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24013076

Theft

Approximately $3,000 worth of power tools and hand tools have been reported stolen. On Friday July 26th 2024, officers were called to investigate the theft which occurred at a job site on the west side of the city. It was reported that the tools had been taken sometime between 5:30 – 8 p.m. the evening before. This remains under investigation. ST24012892

Approximately $50 of merchandise has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Friday July 26th 2024, officers were called to investigate the report of two youths failing to pay for their items. Police are reviewing video surveillance of the incident as they continue to investigate. ST24012966

Fraud

St. Thomas police are currently investigating an investment fraud after a local resident contacted police to report falling victim to an online scam. On Friday July 26th 2024, the St. Thomas resident attended police headquarters to reported the incident in which they are now out approximately $67,000 after doing business with what they believe to be a legitimate investment company. This remains under investigation. ST24012897

Breach of Probation

A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to investigate the report of an unwanted person. On Friday July 26th 2024, police were made aware that the 33 year old had attended an address they were currently on release conditions to not attended. The 33 year old was located and charged with one count Breach of Probation, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24012915

Assault

St. Thomas police are currently investigating an incident in the downtown core on Friday night. Just before 1 a.m. police were called to an area on Centre Street for the report of several individuals being hit with paintballs. Upon arrival, officers learned two unknown individuals attended the area and fired the paintballs at a group of people. Police are reviewing CCTV to identify the parties involved. No injuries were reported. ST24012971

Mischief 

St. Thomas police are currently investigating an incident of mischief that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday July 26th 2024. Just after 2 a.m. police were called to an address on Dunkirk Drive to investigate the report of property damage. Through investigation, police learned several individuals attended the address and smashed the window to a vehicle. Officers are reviewing video surveillance of the incident as they continue to investigate. ST24012976

On Sunday July 28th 2024, STPS were called to investigate the report on an unknown individual removing the windshield wipers from several vehicles on the southside of the city. No other damage was reported. This remains under investigation. ST24013052

Failure to Comply

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged after failing to comply with their release conditions. On Sunday July 28th 2024, police were called to investigate the report of the individual attending an address in the city, violating their current conditions. A warrant for arrest has been requested. RIDE

Approximately 435 vehicles were stopped and their drivers spoken to during a RIDE program in the city, Saturday night. Four alcohol screen devices were administered with one driver registering a warning and given a 3-day suspension. ST24013023

Vehicle Entries 

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Chestnut Street.  On Sunday July 28th 2024, officers were called by owner of the vehicle who wished to report their window had been smashed and their wallet stolen. This remains under investigation. ST24013044
