Assault

An 18 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday September 28th 2023, St. Thomas police were called to investigate the report of intimate partner violence that had occurred between a couple. Through investigation, police determined an assault had occurred and formed ground to charge the 18 year old with two counts of Assault and one count Forcible Confinement. The St. Thomas resident was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23017259

Two youth arrested after assault investigation

A 13 year old St. Thomas resident and a 17 year old St. Thomas resident have been arrested. On Thursday September 28th 2023, both parties attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for assault after they were identified as the parties involved in an altercation in Jonas Park on the weekend (ST23017081) Both youth were processed on their charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. Impaired Operation

A 37 year old London resident has been arrested. Just after 6 p.m. on Thursday September 28th 2023, St. Thomas police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Talbot Street and Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival and while speaking with the parties involved, police believed the 37 year old was showing signs of impairment and was placed arrested and transported to police headquarters for further testing by a drug recognition officer. Testing concluded the individual was impaired by drug. Through further investigation, police located a quantity of suspected fentanyl.

As a result,  the 37 year old London resident has been charged with:

  • One count Operation while Impaired
  • One count Possession of a Control Substance
  • 3 separate Highway Traffic Act charges

The individual was processed on the charges and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision. ST23017293

Warrant Arrests

A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday September 28th 2023, St. Thomas police responded to the complaint of a possible encampment in a local park. Upon arrival, police located the 33 year old who originally gave a false name attempting to evade police. Responding officers knew the individual and were aware of an outstanding warrant. As a result, the 33 year old was charged with one count Obstruct a Peace Officer. The individual was transported to police headquarters to be processed on the charge and the outstanding warrant, later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23017246

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday September 28th 2023, the St. Thomas resident attended police headquarters to turn themselves in as the person responsible for an arson that occurred on the weekend (ST23016995) The individual was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday September 29th 2023, STPS were contacted by Aylmer police who had the individual in custody on the strength of our warrant for breach of probation. Custody was transferred to St. Thomas police and the 31 year old was processed on the warrant and released on an appearance notice. ST23017313
