Arrested

A 59 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday October 19th 2023, the 59 year old attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and two counts Fraud under $5,000, stemming from an investigation that began in June of 2023. The St. Thomas resident was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23018520

Vehicle Entry 

St. Thomas police are investigating a vehicle entry that occurred earlier this week. The owners of the vehicle, a work truck parked in the laneway of a home in a northside neighbourhood, were notified that a cheque in their name had been deposited at a financial institution they don’t have accounts with. STPS are reviewing available video surveillance and continue to investigate. ST23018522

Failure to comply 

A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday October 19th 2023, St .Thomas police were called to attended an address on Wellington Street for a argument between two individuals. Upon arrival, police learned that one of the individuals was in violation of their current bail conditions. As a result, the 33 year old was arrested and charged with one count Failure to Comply with undertaking. The St. Thomas resident was processed and released with a future court date. ST23018538

Attempted theft, youth arrested 

A 17 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday October 19th 2023, St. Thomas police were called to the Elgin Centre for a theft in progress. Upon arrival, it was learned the accused entered a clothing store and attempted to steal from the drawers behind the cash. The employee of the store started to yell for help and the suspect fled. A good Samaritan stopped the accused as they were running and held them until police arrived. As a result, the 17 year old was charged with Theft under $5,000 and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine. The St. Thomas resident was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST23018551

Assault

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday October 20th 2023, police were called to disturbance at a north side address. Upon arrival, it was learned that a verbal altercation between two individuals known to each other, had turned physical. As a result the 31 year old was charged with one count of Assault. The St.  Thomas resident was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. No injuries were reported. ST23018568
