Family Dispute Leads to Charges

A 26 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following the investigation into a family dispute.

On Thursday May 7, the victim attended police headquarters to report a previous incident involving assault and forcible confinement involving a family member.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with:

  • Two counts of Assault
  • One count of Forcible Confinement

He attended police headquarters Thursday evening where he was processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26008231

Intimate Partner Violence – Fail to Comply 

A 27 year old St. Thomas man has been charged following the report of unwanted communication.

On Thursday evening, police were called to investigate reports of the individual breaching court ordered release conditions by communicating with a former partner.

As a result, the accused has been charged with Failure to Comply with an Undertaking. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST26008292

STPS Assist Partner Agencies with Arrests

St. Thomas police assisted partner police agencies with two separate arrests.

On Thursday morning, officers assisted the Huron County OPP with the arrest of a 53 year old St. Thomas man. The individual was arrested without incident and later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date with the Huron County OPP.

In a separate incident, officers assisted the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad after a 39 year old St. Thomas man wanted by London Police was located at a Talbot Street address. He was arrested without incident and transported to meet London Police officers for custody transfer. ST26008221 / ST26008232

Police Respond to Overdose

Early this morning while on community patrol, officers located an unconscious man in parking lot downtown. Prior to police arrival, Narcan had been administered. Officers provided additional doses before the individual regained consciousness.

The St. Thomas Police Service reminds the community that free Naloxone kits are available through local health and community agencies. If you suspect an overdose, call 9-1-1 immediately. ST26008279
