5000th Incident Reached
On March 27th 2025, at 1:00 p.m. the St. Thomas Police Service reached 5,000 incidents and calls for service. This milestone has been reached three days earlier than 2024 when it was March 30th at 11:30 p.m. before we had reached 5,000 incidents.
Criminal Harassment
A 41 year old London resident has been arrested. The individual had been charged after an investigation into an unwanted person on March 14th 2025. On Thursday, officers attended London and took custody of the individual who was transported to police headquarters and processed. The 41 year old made a court appearance and was released by the courts with several conditions and a future court date. ST25004986/4178
Theft
$60 worth of groceries have been reported stolen from a grocery store on Talbot Street. Police are reviewing video of the incident as they continue to investigate. ST25004979
The seat of a bike and a bike light have been reported stolen. On Thursday March 27th 2025, officers were called to a retail store on First Avenue to investigate the report of the bike parts being stolen. The bike was secured to a bike rack outside of the store and when the owner returned, the parts had been removed. Police are reviewing CCTV in the area as they continue to investigate. ST25005031
Warrant Arrest
A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday March 26th 2025, police were notified by a remote monitoring company that the individual had entered an area they are on conditions to be near. Last night, officers located the individual who had been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order. The 29 year old was processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25005029
A 31 year old Cambridge resident has been arrested. On Thursday March 27th 2025, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual when they were made aware of an outstanding warrant for arrest after the individual had been charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, stemming from an incident in March of 2024. The 31 year old was processed for court and was remanded into custody. ST25004990
Mischief
Mailboxes have been damaged and mail has been stolen from an apartment building on the west end of city. Last night, officers were called to the address to investigate the report of an unknown person gaining access to mailboxes and leaving with tenants personal mail. This remains under investigation. Disqualified Driver
A 38 year old London resident has been arrested after a traffic stop in the city on Thursday. Officers on traffic assignment had a vehicle stopped for a traffic infraction. Through investigation, officers learned the driver, a 38 year old from London was a disqualified driver. The individual was charged with several highway traffic act offences and given a future court date. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days. ST25005000
