Stolen bike, recovered

A bike reported stolen from an address on Fairview Avenue on June 29th, 2023 has been recovered. Just after 8:00 a.m. this morning, officers of community patrol were flagged down by a pedestrian in the 400 block of Wellington Street who lead them to the abandoned bike. The bike, valued at $800 matched the serial number given to police yesterday. It was returned to its owner. ST23011460

Vehicle Entry

Cash, personal identification and bank cards have been reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Mondamin Street. On Thursday June 29th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate a vehicle entry where a shoulder bag containing the items was stolen. This remains under investigation. ST23011482

Trespass at night – Officers Assaulted

36 year old Dillion Churchill has been arrested. At approximately 11:45 p.m. on Thursday June 29th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to respond to break and enter in progress at a home on Wellington Street. The caller reported an unknown person on their property breaking into their shed. The suspect left the area, but was quickly located and identified as Churchill. He was placed under arrested and transported to police headquarters. While in custody, 36 year old Churchill became combative and assaulted two police officers. The officers sustained minor injuries.

As a result, Churchill has been charged with:

  •  1 count of Fail to comply with release order
  • 1 count trespass at night
  • 2 counts assault a peace officer

Churchill was processed on the charges and held for court.
