Fraud 

A local resident is out approximately $3,000 after a fraudulent vehicle purchase. On Thursday February 15th 2024, the victim contacted police to report the interaction made through Facebook Marketplace while trying to purchase a vehicle. It was reported that the seller of the vehicle had requested payment and once sent, requested more. After communications escalated, the victim became aware of the interaction being fraudulent and contacted police. This remains under investigation. ST24002366

Vehicle Entry

Cash, identification and personal belongings have been reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Metcalfe Street. On Thursday February 15th 2024, the owner of the vehicle contacted police to report the theft that occurred sometime in the overnight hours. No damage to the vehicle was reported. This remains under investigation. ST24002397

Arson

On Thursday February 15th 2024, STPS were called to an address on Burwell Road by the St. Thomas Fire Department after they extinguished a fire believed to be set intentionally. This remains under investigation. ST24002428

Possession of Stolen Property 

A 55 year old London resident has been arrested. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday February 15th 2024, officers on community patrol observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen. While 0bserving the vehicle, the driver was seen exiting and walking away. STPS arrested the individual and transported them to police headquarters where they were charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Schedule Substance – Methamphetamine and Failure to Comply with Probation Order. The 55 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24002438
