Assault

An argument at a residence on Wellington Street has led to the charge of a assault with weapon. St. Thomas Police were called to the residence on April 27th 2023 to investigate the report of an assault. Upon arrival, STPS learned the details of the altercation and formed grounds to charge a 37 year old, with one count Assault with a Weapon. The 37 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking. ST23006888

Impaired Driver 

A 41 year old resident of Napanee has been charged with two counts of Operation while Impaired and one count Drive with Cannabis Readily Available after a dropped 911 call led to the arrest. At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Thursday April 27th 2023, St. Thomas Police received a 911 call that was disconnect. Upon reconnecting with the caller, it was clear the person was in their vehicle driving. Officers on community patrol were able to locate the caller and vehicle they were driving and as a result, formed grounds that the driver was impaired by drug. The driver was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an appearance notice. ST23006893

Arrested

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident, known to police to have an outstanding warrant for one count Failure to Comply with Release Order has been arrested. Officers on community patrol were called to Pinafore Park on Thursday April 27th 2023 after a concerned citizen alerted STPS of a person who had possibly stolen a bike. Officers were able to located and positively ID the person in question and as a result, the 31 year old was taken into custody, transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an appearance notice. Pokemon cards, stolen

Just before 8:00 p.m. last night, St. Thomas Police were called a retailer on Talbot Street last night to investigate a shoplifting incident that had just occurred. Upon arrival, STPS learned that an unknown female with black and pink hair, wearing a black, selected approximately 20 boxes of Pokemon cards valued at $600. The suspect concealed the cards in a reusable shopping bag and left the store making no attempt to pay. St. Thomas police are reviewing video surveillance and continuing to investigate.
