Vehicle Entry leads to charges
A 29 year old St. Thomas resident is wanted by police after being identified as the person responsible for a vehicle entry reported to police on April 18th 2024. Through investigation police learned a vehicle parked on Wilson Avenue had been entered and several pieces of identification and bank cards had been stolen. The cards had been used at several locations throughout the city. Police attended one of the locations and obtained video surveillance of the incident and were able to identified the suspect. As a result, the 29 year old has been charged with three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Fail to Comply with Release Order, two counts Use of Credit Card and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Warrant arrests
A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday April 18th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for failure to comply and theft under $5,000 stemming from several incidents earlier this year. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24006144
A 25 year old London resident has been arrested. On Thursday April 18th 2024, London police had the individual in custody on the strength a warrant held by STPS in regard to an assault charge dating back to 2019. St. Thomas police attended London to process the warrant and release the individual. ST24006147
A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday April 18th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding bench warrant. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be processed. While being processed, officers located a prohibited weapon. As a result the 38 year old has been charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order and one count Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon. A 30 year old Windsor resident has been arrested. On Thursday April 18th 2024, officers executed an outstanding warrant held by our service for several provincial offence notices. The 30 year old was processed and released with a future court date. ST24006162
A 19 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday April 19th 2024, St. Thomas police were called to disturbance at a residence on the southside of the city. While dealing with the parties involved, police became aware of an outstanding warrant held by London Police for Assault, Mischief and Theft under $5,000. The 19 year old was arrested and transported to St. Thomas police headquarters where the outstanding warrant was processed on behalf of LPS. The individual was released on an LPS undertaking and a future court date. ST24006189
Criminal Harassment
A 49 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged. On Thursday April 18th 2024, officers were called to investigate the report of unwanted communication. Through investigation, police learned the victims in this matter had been receiving unwanted and threatening communications from the accused. As a result of the investigation, the 49 year old has been charged with Criminal Harassment, Harassing Communication and Utter Threats. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24006136
Fraud Investigation
A local resident is out approximately $2,000 after falling victim to scam. On Thursday April 18th 2024, police were contacted by the victim who reported sending money to someone impersonating a member of their family. It was learned that the victim had been exchanging text messages with a number they believed to belong to their relative. This remains under investigation. ST24006150
