Police Respond to Stabbing Incident

On the 11th of May 2025, at approximately 2:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the downtown involving individuals known to each other.

A female victim was approached by two other females with whom she was familiar. The altercation began when one of the suspects assaulted the victim without provocation. Although the victim initially left the area, she was confronted again approximately one block away. At that point, one of the suspects produced a knife and threw it at the victim from close range, causing a non-life-threatening injury.

Officers arrived on scene within minutes of the 911 call, provided immediate first aid, and the victim was transported to hospital. She has since been treated and released.

Police launched an immediate search of the area using both the Canine Unit and Uniformed Patrol officers. Their efforts led to the successful arrest of the primary suspect involved in the incident.  She has been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow morning.

The accused is facing the following charges:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Two counts of failing to comply with probation

This remains an active investigation, with a second unidentified female that will be held accountable.  We are asking anyone with additional information on the identity of the outstanding female or with additional witness information / video evidence to contact the St. Thomas Police Service at 519-631-1224, or visit www.stthomascrimestoppers.ca and reference Incident #ST25007875.
