Theft:

On Saturday the 6th of April 2024 Police were contacted to attend a north end residence for reports of a theft of the front grill from a vehicle. The homeowner advised that at some point on the 1st of April 2024 the front grill to his 2009 Chevy Equinox was stolen off of the vehicle. No other damage was located to the vehicle and no witnesses were found to the incident. Incident ST24005399.

Warrant Arrest:

On Saturday evening Police attended a downtown apartment for reports of an unwanted person in an apartment. While dealing with the matter Police learned that an involved party, a 34 year old St Thomas male, was currently wanted on a warrant held by our service. The male was arrested and transported to cells awaiting weekend video court. Incident ST24005420.

Impaired operation:

On Saturday evening a concerned citizen contacted the St Thomas Police Service regarding a male that appeared to be passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle in a west end parking lot. Police attended and spoke with the male party who was showing signs of impairment. Officers also observed drug paraphernalia in plain view within the vehicle and formed the grounds to believe his ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by drugs. The male was arrested and later performed poorly on a Drug Recognition Evaluation. Search incident to arrest Police located a quantity of fentanyl and a counterfeit bill. The male was later released with conditions and a future court date charged impaired operation, possession of a controlled substance and possess counterfeit currency. Incident ST24005425.
