Stolen Vehicle:

On the 30th of April 2023 a resident in the area of Metcalfe Street and Victoria discovered their vehicle had been stolen from where it had been parked outside of the residence. The vehicle had been parked in the afternoon and noticed missing just shortly after midnight. Stolen is a blue 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan with Ontario Licence Plate BXLH196. A stock photo of the same year/model is attached. The matter is under investigation and the neighbourhood is being canvassed for home surveillance cameras. Impaired operation:

On the 28th of April 2023 the St Thomas Police Service, as well as other emergency services, attended the area of Chestnut Street, west of Fairview Ave, for reports of a single motor vehicle collision where the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree. Through investigation officers formed reasonable grounds that the 46 year old St Thomas resident was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol. The male driver was also currently a suspended driver and on conditions related to operation of motor vehicle(s) from previous convictions as well as matters still before the courts.  The male was transported to the hospital for medical treatment – charged with Operation while impaired, operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, Drive while under suspension, Drive motor vehicle- no interlock ignition device, and fail to comply with undertaking x2. Assault:

In the early morning hours of the 30th of April 2023 police were contacted to attend a south end residence for reports of a home owner that had been assaulted by several youths. Through investigation it was learned that the elderly male victim had confronted two youths that he believed had been attempting to enter vehicles in the area. The confrontation turned physical and the male victim was assaulted by the youths receiving minor injuries that were treated at hospital. The matter is under investigation. Assault:

On the 29th of April 2023 a local youth attended the station to turn themselves in related to an investigation from an assault at a local school. The youth was released with conditions and a future court date. Incident ST23006433

Domestic Assault:

On the 29th of April Police responded to a south end residence for reports of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation a 30 year old male was arrested for assault on his partner. The male was transported to the station and released the next morning with a future court date. Incident ST23007065

Mischief:

In the early hours of the 30th of April 2023 the St Thomas Police Service responded to reports of a damaged window at an establishment downtown. Investigation revealed that it appeared a rock had been thrown at a large paned window.
