St. Thomas, ON – Tuesday June 9th 2026
The St. Thomas Police Service has arrested and charged a 46 year old man in connection with the death of a 28 year old woman.
On May 30th, 2026, emergency services responded to an address in downtown St. Thomas after a woman was found unresponsive. She was transported to hospital, where she later died.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Branch investigated the circumstances surrounding her death. Through the investigation, officers identified James Friesen as the individual who supplied the substance that caused the woman’s death.
On June 8th 2026, members of the St. Thomas Police Service located and arrested Friesen in Aylmer.
Friesen has been charged with:
• Manslaughter
• Trafficking a Schedule I Substance
Following a court appearance, he was remanded into custody. This will remain before the courts.
