On the 10th of July 2023, shortly before midnight, the St Thomas Police Service responded to a south end residence for reports of an unwanted male that had forced his way inside the home and assaulted several residents.
Police arrived on scene and located a 17 year old male inside the residence where he had been confronting the homeowner’s family. It was learned that the male, who is well known to Police from previous incidents involving violence and property crime, had damaged a window at a neighbouring house before being confronted by the victim and being asked to leave the area.
The youth then forced his way inside the victim’s home and a physical altercation ensued.
The male party was arrested by Police without incident and later taken to hospital due to intoxication and as a precautionary measure due to pre-existing injuries.
The male was released to the care of hospital staff and is to be charged with Unlawfully being in a Dwelling, Assault x2, Mischief and fail to comply with release order.
