Break and Enter Investigation
Police are investigating a residential break and enter that occurred on Saturday evening. It was reported that when returning home to an address on St. Catharine Street, broken glass was located by the owner and the rear door was open. Police were contacted and attended. While clearing the residence officers determined someone had been in the house and throughout the property. This remains under investigation. ST26018798
Mischief
St. Thomas police are investigating the report of damage caused the exterior HVAC system at an address on Wellington Street. It was reported that the insulation of the copper had been removed in what appeared to be a theft attempt. CCTV in the area is being reviewed. ST26018803
Fail to Stop
Two individuals operating e-scooters have failed to stop for police. On Sunday evening, an officer on community patrol observed the pair travelling in an unsafe manner and attempted to stop them to address the concerns. The individuals refused to stop, fleeing from the officer. CCTV in the area of the Joe Thornton Community Centre is available and being provided to police. ST26018893
Vehicle Entries
An iphone has been reported stolen from a vehicle parked at an address on Oriole Lane. The theft occurred in the overnight hours on Saturday. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST26018846
Two vehicles parked at an address on Lake Margaret Trail were reported entered, Saturday evening. Reported stolen from one of the vehicles was a guitar that has since been located and returned. ST26018796
Theft Investigations
A pair of boots, valued at $230 have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Sunday, police were contacted after store staff became aware of the theft. Video is available and has been provided to police. ST26018860
$260 of general merchandise was recovered in a shoplifting incident that occurred on Friday. An online report was submitted to police detailing the incident. A video of the individual responsible was provided to police who continue to investigate and identify the suspect. ST26018861
$180 of groceries have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Saturday, police were called to investigate the report of an unknown male, leaving the store with a cart full of groceries he hadn’t paid for. The vehicle and description of the suspect was provided to officers who are attempting to identify the individual responsible. ST26018827
Warrant Arrests
A 41 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Sunday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 and Possession on Property Obtained by Crime stemming from a investigation in August. She was processed and released on an appearance notice with a date to attend court. ST26018870/16202
A 48 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Sunday, the accused who was wanted on outstanding warrants with the Oxford OPP and Strathroy – Caradoc Police Service was located by our officers and taken into custody. The neighbouring police services were contacted and attended to assume custody and continue their arrest. ST26018895
A 48 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. Charged with Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident last week, the accused was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST26018839/18555
A 16 year old St. Thomas teen has been arrested. On Sunday, we were contacted by the London Police Service who had the teen in their custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant for Uttering Threats stemming from an incident earlier this month. STPS provided LPS with the documents to continue the arrest on our behalf. ST26018823/17916
