Vehicle Entries Lead to Arrest
A 32 year old St. Thomas man has been charged following an investigation into a vehicle entry and the fraudulent use of stolen bank cards. On Sunday, police were contacted after a wallet, bank cards, cash, a backpack and sporting equipment were stolen from a vehicle parked on Elizabeth Street.
The stolen cards were subsequently used to make several purchases at a Talbot Street business. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and identified the suspect. The accused was located and arrested. Officers recovered the stolen backpack along with several other items believed to be stolen or obtained through crime.
As a result, the 32 year old has been charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Theft Under $5,000
- Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card
- Disguise with Intent
- Failure to Comply with an Undertaking

STPS are investigating three additional vehicle entries reported over the weekend:
- Four pairs of sunglasses were reported stolen from a vehicle on Rice Road after its passenger door was found ajar. The incident is believed to have occurred on September 14th.
- Approximately $300 worth of personal property was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a Talbot Street parking lot. Police observed pry marks on the passenger side door.
- A wallet containing identification and bank cards, prescription medication and cigarettes were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Ross Street.

Assault Under Investigation
Police are investigating the report of an assault. On Sunday, a resident attended police headquarters to report being assaulted the previous afternoon while at local grocery store. Police learned that an unknown man attempted to force a shopping cart between the victim and an adjacent checkout lane, striking and pinning the victim with the cart. The man continued pushing the cart despite being asked to stop and then left the store. CCTV has been sent to police who continue to investigate. ST26018283
Assist London Police Service
On Sunday, a youth attended St. Thomas Police Service headquarters in relation to an investigation by the London Police Service. The youth had been charged with one count of Uttering Threats. Once processed, the individual was released on an undertaking with a future court date and the completed documents were returned to the London Police Service. ST26018295
Recovered Stolen Bicycle
A stolen bicycle has been recovered. On Sunday, while conducting a traffic stop on Talbot Street, police located an individual in possession of a bicycle that had previously been reported stolen. The owner was contacted and the bicycle was returned. ST26018260 / ST26017886
