Theft Investigations
St. Thomas Police are investigating several thefts:
- On Monday, police were contacted regarding two thefts from a Talbot Street grocery store. It was reported that an unknown male concealed several alcoholic beverages before leaving the store without paying. ST26017261
- At the same store, an unknown female concealed several grocery items in a reusable bag before leaving the store without paying. Both incidents remain under investigation. ST26017263
- On Monday, officers reviewing surveillance footage in relation to an unrelated investigation observed an unknown male take a black and purple bicycle from the front lawn of a Scott Street residence. The male was last seen travelling eastbound on Scott Street. Police have obtained additional surveillance footage and are working to identify the suspect. ST26017279
- On Tuesday, police received the report of a theft from a vehicle parked on Raven Street. A wallet containing identification, bank cards and $100 in cash and $200 worth of new clothing was stolen. ST26017326
- Police are investigating after several items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked near Owaissa Street. Some of the property was later located on a nearby lawn. ST26017368
Failure to Comply
A 38 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday, police were contacted after the woman reportedly drove past a residence she is prohibited from attending. The incident was captured on surveillance footage. Charged with one count of Breach of Recognizance, the woman attended police headquarters on Tuesday. Once processed, she was was released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26017285/7331
Mischief
On Tuesday September 8th, police were contacted after damage was discovered to a school bus parked in a Moore Street parking lot. Several battery cables had been cut and the copper wiring removed, leaving the bus inoperable. The damage is estimated at approximately $2,000. The bus had been parked at the location during the summer break from school. ST26017322
A 29 year old man has been charged with mischief following an incident on Tuesday evening. Police were called to to investigate the report of an individual causing damage to several items inside a home and shattering the glass panel of the front door. The accused had left the area before police arrived but was located a short distance away and arrested. Charged with one count of Mischief Under $5,000, he was transported to police headquarters and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26017389
Bail Violation
A 39 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order after police were notified she had failed to attend her court ordered probation program. A warrant for her arrest has been requested. ST26017334
