Intimate Partner Violence
On Thursday the 3rd of September we received a 911 call from a female regarding a physical altercation with her boyfriend in her home. Officers arrived and located the male driving away from the residence with minor injuries to his face. Through investigation it was learned that the female was the primary aggressor and had struck the male several times with her hands and with a pillow during an argument. The female was charged with assault and released on with a future court date and conditions. Incident ST26016999.
Fail to comply with release order:
On Thursday we received a call from the bail supervisors at the John Howard Society who reported that a 51-year-old female had not reported to bail supervision as per the conditions of her court release. A warrant is being sought for the arrest of the woman, charged failure to comply with release order. Incident ST26017006.
Family Dispute/Assault
On Thursday afternoon we were contacted by an adult female who reported being in a physical altercation with her brother who had fled the residence prior to our arrival. Statements were taken and grounds were formed to charge the 29-year-old male with assault. A warrant is currently being sought for the male’s arrest. Incident ST26014803.
Impaired operation:
On Thursday evening we were called to a street in the north end regarding a vehicle that was being operated in an unsafe manner. One of the callers indicated that the vehicle had struck a parked car and that the male driver had fled on foot. The registered owner of the vehicle was located several blocks away matching the description provided by witnesses. Grounds were formed to arrest the 27-year-old male for fail to remain at an accident, dangerous operation and impaired operation. The male later provided breath samples that were over the legal limit. The male was later released with a future court date. Incident ST26017044.
Mischief:
Overnight a homeowner was awoken by their dog barking to find the front window of their home had been smashed. Nothing was located inside the home or outside the window that would have indicated that something was thrown through it. Video is being reviewed provided by the homeowner and neighbours and the matter is under investigation. Incident ST26017506.
Warrant arrest/Breach of court order:
Officers on general patrol spotted a male and female together that officers were aware had existing reasonable grounds to arrest for failure to comply with recognizance as the male is currently on conditions to not associate with the female from previous assault charges. A warrant also existed for the female for party to the offence. Both parties were arrested on the strength of the exiting grounds and the male was further charged with an additional breach of the same recognizance. Both parties were held for court.
