Man Charged Following Disturbance
A 29 year old St. Thomas man has been charged following a disturbance on the northside of the city Monday night.
Police responded to several 911 calls of an argument that had escalated and a man being struck with a baseball bat. The accused then allegedly used his vehicle to repeatedly strike another vehicle, causing significant damage.
Upon arrival, officers arrested the 29 year and observed signs of alcohol impairment. He refused to provide a breath sample.
Charged with Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Operation and Refusal to Comply with Demand, he was transported to police headquarters to be processed. ST26016853
Fraud Investigation
A 33 year old Hamilton man has been charged following a fraud investigation at a local business.
On Monday, the man used a fraudulent invoice to collect approximately $424 worth of insulation before attempting to return the items for a refund. When confronted by staff, the accused left the area. Identified through further investigation, he has been charged with:
- Two counts of Use, Deal or Act on a Forged Document
- Fraud Under $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

RIDE

Recovered Stolen Vehicle
The 2022 White Ford Edge reported stolen on August 29th, has been recovered. On Monday August 31st, the London Police Service located the vehicle and contacted STPS. The owner was notified. ST26016817
Mischief
Police are investigating the report of damage caused to the exterior of a building on Talbot Street. On Monday, it was reported that damage had been caused to the building in what appeared to be an attempt to steal the copper downspouts. CCTV in the area is being reviewed. ST26016789
Vehicle Entry
A vehicle parked on Barwick Street has been reported entered. On Monday, police were called to investigate the report of the vehicle being entered and rummaged through twice in two days. ST26016776
Theft
$30 of general merchandise has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Monday, police received an online report detailing the incident that occurred on August 29th. ST26016783
Warrant Arrests
A 33 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 stemming from a shoplifting incident in June. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26016774
A 79 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant for committing an Indecent Act after being charged in relation to an incident on the weekend. Once processed, he was released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26016787
