Assault with a Weapon
A 33 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Tuesday afternoon, officers on community patrol observed an altercation between two individuals near Talbot Street and William Street.
During the altercation, one individual produced a concealed can of animal deterrent spray and sprayed the victim in the face. Officers immediately intervened and took the individual into custody. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Through investigation, officers learned the accused was bound by a court order prohibiting him from possessing weapons.
A search incident to arrest, located approximately 2.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Charged with:
• Assault with a Weapon
• Assault Causing Bodily Harm
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
• Disobeying an Order of Court
• Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held to attend court. ST26016400
Election Sign Reminder
The St. Thomas Police Service is reminding the public that election signs must not be removed, damaged or relocated without authorization. Election signs are the property of the candidate or campaign, and interfering with them may result in criminal charges. Anyone who witnesses the theft, damage or improper removal of an election sign is encouraged to report it to police.
Warrant Arrest
A 17 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding DNA warrant. Once processed, the teen was released from custody. ST26016391
A 36 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Tuesday, while at the courthouse on an unrelated matter the accused was arrested on an outstanding warrant for two counts of Theft under $5,000 stemming from separate incidents in July and one count of Failure to Comply with Probation. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26016406
Vehicle Entries
A remote car starter has been reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Gladstone Avenue. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST26016377
A phone was reported stolen from work vehicle parked on Golding Avenue. On Tuesday, police were contacted in regards to the theft that occurred from a job site. Through investigation, officers have identified and charged a 42 year old St. Thomas man with Theft under $5,000. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST26016389
Theft
A pair of shoes, valued at $109 have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Tuesday, police received the report of an unknown woman failing to pay for the item. Video has been provided to police. ST26016398
