Thefts and Fail to Comply charges
St. Thomas Police were called to attend an east end retailer regarding a theft that had just occurred. Loss prevention provided a description of the suspect and items stolen. A 41-year-old female from St. Thomas was located and arrested nearby. Investigation revealed the individual had stolen from the same retailer the previous day, and was also bound by two orders with conditions to not attend that retail store. The accused was charged with both thefts, as well as failing to comply with their probation order and undertaking, and transported to Police Headquarters where they were held for a court appearance. A 41-year-old male from St. Thomas was located and arrested, after loss prevention reported a theft from an east end retailer. Investigation revealed the individual was additionally on a probation order with conditions to not attend that retail store. Stolen Vehicle
St. Thomas Police were called to an east end retail complex for a report of a stolen vehicle around 5:30pm. A store employee reported, while at work, their wallet and keys were taken from the staff locker room, and then their 2026 Hybrid Toyota Corolla was stolen from the parking lot. Video surveillance of the suspect was obtained, as well as vehicle tracking information, and record of banking transactions using a debit card. The vehicle was located abandoned by Hamilton Police Service around 9 pm on the same day. The incident is still under investigation. ST26016283
Warrant arrest in Intimate Partner Violence
On the 22nd of August, St. Thomas Police received a complaint of criminal harassment. The complainant reported that an ex-partner, continued to repeatedly contact them after being asked not to. Nearly 150 voicemails were accumulated. After consulting a lawyer in July of 2026, the complainant recorded, with a 3rd party present, a conversation where the complainant told the ex to stop contacting them or attending their residence. The ex-acknowledged the request, but resumed contacting the complainant one week later. Additional disclosure of a choking incident was provided during the investigation. As a result, the 66-year-old Aylmer resident was charged with Criminal Harassment, and with Assault Cause Bodily Harm-Choke, Suffocate, or Strangle. Aylmer Police assisted in locating and arresting the accused on the 23rd of August. The accused was transported to St. Thomas Police Headquarters for processing, and was held for a court appearance. Intimate Partner Violence
St. Thomas Police attended a residence in the city’s west end for a domestic dispute. The complainant called police when a neighbor showed up requesting help, and appeared to be suffering from injuries. Emergency Medical Services were contacted to assess the injuries, and as a result of the investigation, a 60-year-old St. Thomas male was arrested for spousal assault, transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and held for a court appearance. St. Thomas Police attended a residential building in the city’s west end for a domestic dispute. A 911 call was placed advising an individual was being aggressive. Investigation revealed that the caller had assaulted their partner, and as a result, a 38-year-old St. Thomas male was arrested for spousal assault. The accused was transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and later released with a future court date. ST26016300
