Impaired Driving
While conducting a RIDE program, Police observed a vehicle turning around to avoid an upcoming Police interaction. A traffic stop was conducted and grounds were formed to arrest a 63-year-old St. Thomas resident for impaired operation. The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where his breath samples read 80mgs and 90mgs of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The male was charged with both Impaired Operation and Impaired Operation – 80 plus. He was released on an Undertaking with a future court date. ST26007848
Intimate Partner Violence
Police spoke with a victim who had attended the station to disclose an occurrence of historical assault from their spouse. As a result, grounds were formed to arrest a 41-year-old St. Thomas resident with IPV related offences. The resident was arrested and charged, held in custody for a morning court appearance. ASD Alert
While on general patrol, Police stopped a driver for a Highway Traffic Act Violation. The driver was read an Approved Screening Device demand, and registered an Alert. The driver’s license was seized and the driver was issued a 7-day suspension. ST26007917
