Warrant Arrest

St. Thomas Police on general patrol, located and arrested a 45-year-old St. Thomas resident on an outstanding probation warrant. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and then taken over to the Elgin County Courthouse for a court appearance. ST26007203, RM26000276

Theft

St. Thomas Police are investigating a theft from an east end retail complex. Loss prevention reported that a suspect entered the store, selected some fishing tackle, and left the store failing to pay. Video footage is being reviewed and the incident is still under investigation. ST26007214

Frauds

St. Thomas Police are investigating scams involving cryptocurrency.

One victim reported downloading an app to store cryptocurrency, and during the process accidentally accessed a fraudulent website. The victim proceeded to enter their credentials and passwords. Moments later their cryptocurrency accounts were then emptied without authorization, totaling 10,000$.

Another victim reported receiving an unsolicited call regarding cryptocurrency investments. After providing account details, the victim is out 3150$. Both incidents are still under investigation. ST26007234, ST26007245

Fail to Comply

St. Thomas Police were called to a north end residential area for bail violations. Information was provided to police that a 34-year-old St. Thomas resident was currently breaching their conditions to not be near or communicate with another individual. The individual was charged with Failing to Comply with Undertaking, arrested, transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and held for a court appearance. ST26007242
