Media release – 6th of April 2026

Intimate Partner Violence:

In the early morning hours on Sunday the 5th of April, we responded to a 911 call regarding a heated argument between a male and a female at their residence. Officers attended and formed grounds to charge the male with choking the female victim. The 36-year-old male was arrested, charged with assault bodily harm – choking, and later released on conditions. Incident ST26005776

Harassment:

On Sunday morning we attended a multi-residential building for reports of repeated unwanted and harassing communications between two tenants. The suspect had been warned previously by officers regarding ceasing all communication. A warrant is being sought for the 56-year-old male suspect, to be charged with criminal harassment. Stolen Vehicle:

Officers are currently seeking to locate a white 2017 GMC Acadia, plated DANB351, stolen from a driveway in the south end of the city overnight. The vehicle was locked and the owner has the possession of the sole set of keys. There is no image of the specific vehicle available at this time however a stock image of the same year and colour is below. Break and Enter:

On Sunday afternoon we were notified by staff at a local business that security cameras had picked up motion in a rear fenced compound. Video revealed a male party inside the compound and was identified as a suspect that was previously charged with breaking into the same location. The male was on a current release order preventing him from attending that location, previously charged with break and enter. The 45-year-old male was later located, and on his person, he had tools consistent with committing break and enters. The male was charged with break and enter, fail to comply with release order and possess break in instruments. The male was held for weekend video court. Incident ST26005792.

Warrant Arrest:

On Sunday afternoon officers on general patrol observed a male party that was wanted on an endorsed bench warrant held by our service for fraud related offences (ST26004841). The 36-year-old male was arrested and later released with a future court date. Incident ST26005804.

Mischief:

On Saturday evening we received an online report that some grave markers may have been damaged at a local cemetery. Officers attended the location and observed some damage that may be consistent with incidental damage from maintenance. Officers will be checking with staff today to verify if the damage was criminal in nature. Incident ST26005813.

Robbery:

On Sunday night we received a call from a male party reporting he had been robbed by an acquaintance earlier in the evening. The male reported that an individual known to him approached him and demanded money and property from him under threat. Video is being obtained from the area the incident occurred and the matter is currently under investigation. There is no threat to public safety. Incident ST26005806
