Intimate Partner Violence

A 37 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested following an incident on Monday. While dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter, officers were made aware of an argument that had turned physical, earlier in the day. Charged with one count of Assault, the 37 year old St. Thomas woman was processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26005306

Warrant Arrest

A 43 year old St. Thomas woman, wanted by our service for Theft Under $5,000 after being identified by police as the person responsible for stealing a purse, has been arrested. The individual attended police headquarters Monday afternoon. The purse was recovered and returned to the rightful owner. The accused was processed and held to attend court. ST26005360/5304

Theft

$30 of groceries have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Monday, officers were called to the store in relation to the incident that occurred the day before. Video has been provided to police. ST26005350

An iPhone reported stolen from an address on Wellington Street on Monday, has been recovered and returned to the rightful owner. On Monday afternoon, police were called to the area by the owner of the phone who wished to report it had been stolen while shopping. Video of the incident was provided to police who identify the individual responsible. Last night, officers on community patrol located the accused and recovered the phone. ST26005371/5400

Mischief

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of damage caused to a vehicle. On Monday, officers were called to an address on Verna Street after a brick had been thrown through the window of a truck. This remains under investigation. ST26005359

Fraud

A local resident is out $5,000 after falling victim to a romance scam. On Monday, police were contacted in regards to incident that began in February. It was reported that over the course of the last month, the victim had purchased gift cards and provided their banking information to the fraudster. This remains under investigation. ST26005393

RIDE

Of the 125 vehicles stopped and drivers spoken to during a RIDE program in the city on Monday night, STPS are happy to report no infractions were found. One roadside alcohol screening device was administered with the driver registering a pass. Thank you for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST26005411/5413
