Break and Enter Investigation – Arrest
A 23 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following a break and enter investigation. On February 26th shortly after 6:30 a.m. workers arriving on site at a business on Talbot Street, discovered damage and found the premises had been entered. Two black tool boxes containing approximately $20,000 worth of tools were reported stolen. The boxes had been secured with chains, which were found to be broken. Through investigation, officers identified the suspect as the 23 year old St. Thomas man. On Thursday afternoon, officers located the accused who had been charged with Break and Enter, Theft over $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation. Careless Driving
A 19 year old St. Thomas teen has been charged with Careless Driving after officers responded to a call for service in a local park, early this morning. Upon arriving at the park, officers located a vehicle that had left the roadway and caused minor damage to the grass and bushes. Through investigation, it was learned the driver lost control of their vehicle after driving in an unsafe manner. The teen was charged with Careless Driving and released with a date to attend court. Warrant Arrests
A 37 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Thursday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant after being identified as the person responsible in a theft investigation from March 13th. Charged with Theft under $5,000, he was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25005096/4320
A 32 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. Last night, Aylmer police had the individual in their custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant in relation to charges stemming from an intimate partner violence investigation and failing to comply with a court order. The accused was transported to STPS Headquarters where she was processed and held to attend court. ST26005135/2596
Break and Enter Investigations
$80,000 of electrical wiring, equipment and materials have been reported stolen. On Thursday, officers were called to a property on Talbot Street currently under construction after the owner had been made aware that the building had been entered and the items stolen. Entry is believed to have occurred between March 23rd and 26th. An unknown person(s) gained access to the building by damaging one of the doors. CCTV in the area is being reviewed as this remains under investigation. The building has been secured by the property owner. ST26005104
On Thursday afternoon, officers were called to the 400 block of Talbot Street to investigate the report of a break and enter in progress. Upon arrival, officers learned an unknown individual attended the area, breaking the glass door of a business to gain entry. Confronted by staff, the suspect ran from the area prior to police arrival. CCTV has been provided to police. ST260051116
Theft
A 33 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged after being identified as the person responsible for $1,000 of unauthorized purchases on a stolen debit card. On Thursday, police were contacted by an individual who reported their wallet had been stolen. The victim reported several unauthorized purchases at various locations downtown. Officers attended one of the addresses and through investigation and review of CCTV, identified the 33 year old St. Thomas woman. Charged with Theft under $5,000 a warrant for her arrest has been requested. ST26005141
Personal electronics and a game system have been reported stolen from an apartment building on the northside of the city. On Thursday afternoon, officers were called to the address after a resident reported the items stolen. This remains under investigation. ST26005112
