Warrant Arrest

A 26 year old London man wanted by our service following a search warrant in February, has been arrested. On Sunday the accused was located and transported to police headquarters. Charged with:

  • One count –  Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • One count – Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid
  • One count – Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – other drugs
  • One count – Traffic Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine
  • One count – Traffic Schedule 1 Substance – Opioid
  • One count – Traffic Schedule 1 Substance – other drug

A 47 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. Early this morning St. Thomas police were notified by the OPP that they had the individual in custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant. The accused had been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order, stemming from an incident in February. OPP transported the man to STPS HQ where he was processed and held to attend court. Bail Violations 

A 47 year old Central Elgin man has been charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Conditions after police learned the accused was at an address in St. Thomas they are on conditions to not attend. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST26003993

Fraud 

A local business is out approximately $2,200 after falling victim to a bitcoin deposit scam. On Sunday, police were called to investigate the report of a suspicious phone call. Through investigation officers learned the caller, posing as a business advisor for the company, directed an employee to make several deposits through separate QR codes at a bitcoin machine. Four transactions had been completed before the employee was alerted to the scam. This remains under investigation. ST26003984

Mischief 

A vehicle, parked in the 800 block of Talbot Street has been reported damaged. On Sunday, police were contacted after the owner of the vehicle reports the window had been smashed and the vehicle rummaged through. At the time of the call, two individuals appeared to be in the vehicle. Upon police arrival, the individuals had left the area. CCTV is being reviewed as this remains under investigation. ST26003989

Theft

$50 of grocery items have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Sunday, officers were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown female failing to pay for her items. She was last seen leaving the area in a grey vehicle. Video has been provided to police. ST26004014

$80 of gas has been reported stolen from a gas station on the northside of the city. The incident, captured on video took place on Saturday morning. It was reported that a silver SUV attended the pumps and failed to pay for their fuel. This remains under investigation. ST26003961
