Intimate Partner Violence 

A 47 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after police were called to a disturbance Monday evening. At 7:45 p.m. officers attended an west end address for the reports of an argument between tenants of an apartment building. Upon arrival, officers located the parties involved and through investigation learned a verbal argument between spouses had escalated resulting in an assault. Charged with one count of Assault, the 47 year old was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26003620

Bail Violations 

A 31 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order after police determined she was not residing at the address required under her release conditions. A warrant for her arrest has been requested. ST26003593

A 38 year old St. Thomas man has been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order after police determined he was not residing at the address required under his release conditions. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST26003594

Warrant Arrests

A 37 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for one count of Assault stemming from an incident in January. The accused was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST26003586

A 45 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were made aware of an outstanding warrant for arrest in relation to a stolen vehicle investigation. The accused has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation Order in March of last year. The 45 year old was processed to go before the courts and was remanded into custody. ST26003601

A 37 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday evening, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service after failing to adhere to his court ordered probation. The accused was processed and released on an appearance notice to attend court. ST26003606

Fraud  

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of online fraud. On Monday, a resident attended police headquarters after receiving a notification from an online loan company with details of a loan, processed in their name that they hadn’t applied for. This remains under investigation. ST26003592

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of cell phone fraud. On Monday, a resident contacted police after being notified of an outstanding balance with a cell phone provider. It was reported that the individual was contacted by a collection agency who stated their account had been processed for collection after they had fail to pay a $4,000 balance. The victim reports never having an account with the alleged provider. This remains under investigation. ST26003613

RIDE 

Of the vehicles stopped and drivers spoken to during a RIDE program in the city last night, STPS are pleased to report no infractions were found. Thank you for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST26003627
